Joan D'Arcy was a well-loved and active member of DAS for many years, and she was also a leading light in the Little Chester Local History Society.

They have organised a lecture in Joan's memory as part of an event to celebrate the Chartist movement’s Chester Green meeting which aimed to give the working classes political rights and influence, which emerged in 1836 and was most active between 1838 and 1848.

The lecture is on the subject of the Chartist leader George Harney, and will take place in St.Pauls Church Hall, Little Chester, Derby DE1 3QZ
