Zachariah Boreman (1736 - 1810) Collection
Zachariah Boreman was an English porcelain painter who specialized in monochrome landscape scenes. He originally worked at the Chelsea factory, but from 1783 to 1794 he worked in Derby, and his landscapes from that period depict Derbyshire scenes. The paintings were bequeathed to the Society and are now on permanent loan to Derby Museums. They can be seen at the Derby Museum and Art Gallery but it is advisable to make an appointment to view as they are not on display.
Copyright remains with the Derbyshire Archaeological Society.
A browse on the internet will see these initial paintings transformed into the finished artwork on a splendid collection of late 18th century porcelain pieces.
