    Bennerley Viaduct walk

    19:00 -21:00

Access will be via a private track that runs north from Awsworth Road, on the east side of the Erewash Valley railway line, to a parking area just beyond the viaduct; the gate from the main road (at SK 473434) is normally locked but will be open for our visit. The nearest postcode for SatNavs is DE7 8PX.

We will meet under the viaduct and a guide from the Friends of Bennerley Viaduct will lead us on a circular walk of about 1 mile that will take us over and under the viaduct. While there is now a ramp at the West end of the viaduct, to get to that involves steps over a railway footbridge and there is a steep flight of steps down at the East end of the viaduct. The footpath under the viaduct is uneven in places – please wear suitable shoes.

Any queries or issues on the day, please contact Ian Mitchell on 0757 979 0812.
